Megève is the Alpine village the Rothschild family built into French high society in the 1920s — a refusal of Saint-Moritz's flash in favour of cobbled streets, horse-drawn sleighs and the discretion of old money. FFGR Lyon chauffeurs the scenic two-hour route through the Aravis, with helicopter transfer from Geneva or Annecy for those arriving by jet. The village centres on the Four Seasons (the former Rothschild estate) and the Flocons de Sel, Emmanuel Renaut's three-Michelin table above the village. Skiing across the Évasion Mont-Blanc domain is gentle and panoramic rather than extreme — Megève has always been about presence, not performance.
